David & The Giants were one of those acts who through constant touring and a stream of Christian label albums in the '80s and '90s became much loved stalwarts of US CCM. Yet somehow their popularity never reached Britain's churches and fests and it was, remarkable, the Northern soul scene who ensured David & The Giants had at least one clique of fans in Blighty. Today the group's veteran frontman operates Huff Recording Studio in Good Hope, Georgia and puts out occasional releases on his Giant Records. The excellence of the best tracks on 'Wait' clearly indicate that David (and the one-time Giants Rayborn and Clayborn Huff who help out on some of the BVs) has lost none of his winning ways in producing warmly engaging music. Styles here range from Brit-influenced rock praise, dreamy pop jangle and gritty soul ballads. Concerning the latter, if you were to put a Hammond and horns on the soulful "God Is Love" it would sound perfectly in place on a '60s Stax album. All the songs sound thoughtfully crafted with lyrical themes that range from the overwhelming love of God ("My God") to his omnipresence ("Just A Shout Away") which though a bit straightforwardly biblical for more poetic tastes always get the truth across. And one song, the delightfully catchy opener "The Best Is Yet To Come", coming as it does in a season when Cross Rhythms is struggling to survive the financial downturn, spoke directly to this reviewer's heart. All in all, a fine album from a singer, songwriter and producer who still has much to communicate.

Long awaited and worth the "Wait", David Huffs new album
Wait is well worth the price also. One of my favorites on
Wait is "We Made It" but in truth I really have enjoyed
every song on it. If you want to listen to music and just
worship and praise God then Wait is music you need to have
in your collection. David Huff is an extremely talented
musician and doesn't take a back seat to anybody when it
comes to playing an electric guitar. I am so glad he is
still recording his music and already look forward to his
next album. Thanks for the great review on one of my
favorites.
