Don't let the title of this CD fool you, Dave and Jess aren't two CCM star wannabes engaging a bit of self-promotion in an effort to flag down some radio play. There is a more serious intent behind this independently released EP, the husband and wife duo both working for Aid Sudan with all monies received from the sale of this EP going to purchase hand-held radios which will allow the people of Southern Sudan to hear the Gospel in their own tribal languages. Now I've heard many a well intentioned charity CD where the music has been of little more than demo quality. But this definitely isn't one of them. Dave & Jess offer here six new songs focusing on the themes of giving, compassion and Christ's call to walk alongside those in need while the production, by Scott Williamson (FFH, Point Of Grace) is top rate bringing out the poignancy of Jess' voice and the immediacy of Dave's radio friendly hooks. Quality pop then and a cause hopefully thousands will support.
