If any stuffy traditionalist comes to you claiming that our modern worship songs simply don't have the theological depth of Wesley and Newton, point them to "Joy In The House" as a fine example of a modern portrayal of the glory and mystery of the Godhead: "I'm gonna run/I'm gonna click/I'm gonna jive/Jesus is alive!" No, seriously... Dave is employed as a Christian schools worker by the York Schools And Youth Trust and this is his first record company album. 'Heaven's No T starts off well, the pumped up rock guitars on "Joy To The House" means it could almost pass for a Soul Survivor teenage praise anthem. But a cod country "Ace Foundations" and a rather tiresome "Ahrrr! (The Pirate Song)" with grating Long John Silver accents warns what is to follow with some tracks, like "Oodles Of Love" and "Listen Up!" sounding like bedroom recording demos. Though this isn't down there with the worst of the American children's albums, neither is it in the same class as, say, the Sammy Horner kids albums.
