Terry Taylor's team have explored everything from country rock to avant garde techno in their 20 odd years of existence. On this set the rock gospel veterans settle for scrunching guitar rock and pretty good it sounds too. As usual Mr Taylor's lyrics range from the truly incisive (the lampoon of those grotesque biblical theme parks that religious America have spawned) to the stream-of-consciousness incomprehensible. Some of the songs are intensely dark (try the grim "Low Crawls And High Times") though Taylor's wit and talent for a memorable image keeps you listening.

One cant get his around just how diverse most of DA's stuff
has been over the years. And one cant believe how brilliant
this group of talented guys has been on every album since
they first began way back in the seventies.
Terry Taylor here writes all the songs on his own except for
Stone Away. There is a maturity and intensity of word that
may be quite unpallitable with those who prefer worship or
run of the mill. He has the kind of writing prowess that can
shove a mirror right in front of your face.
This album is packed full of scrunching rampant and flaming
well excellent tunes. One catches Jesus all through this
album. One catches the truth of present situations. Theres
the brilliant lyric of BAKERSFIELD for a start. And how many
women and blokes can associate with SHE'S WORKING HERE?!
I love theroakier edge to stuff on this album. It makes the
delivery all the more potent. STONE AWAY is a brilliant
track indeed. I really do not have a favourite on this album
though. Although I'll Get Over It is one of the most open
and honest lyrics ive heard in a long time.
This album is a minefield of beauty and power. Another first
class winner from Terry and the band. Highly recommended.
And not 7 out of 10, more like 10 out of 10
