A one-time member of Donald Lawrence's Tri-City Singers as well as family group The Murrills, North Carolina-based singer and producer Damion has teamed up with his new vocal group Siloam for an album of polished gospel that seeks not only to praise God but to comment on the current state of the world from a Christian perspective. For instance, the likes of the bluesy "Don't Cry" boldly suggests that Jesus may weep when he returns at the end of days to find what we've been up to whilst the single "Kingdom Come" and the title track both encourage the believer to make a difference in the here and now. Perhaps unsurprisingly, this release benefits from Murrill's savvy as a producer and, thanks to a variety of different styles ranging from light funk to smooth soul, he keeps things interesting throughout. Keen to let others take centrestage, "I Believe" sees singer George Huff pull off a stellar vocal performance whilst Murrill's bill-sharing gospel troupe get the chance to shine in "Tell The World". For the most part, Murrill acts as emcee and, whilst his spoken introductions on many of the tracks tend to come across as forced and cheesy, this is nonetheless an accomplished release - concluded in style by a satisfying reworking of the old Murrills number "Don't Let Me Fall".
