This latest offering from Crashdog is their fifth album and also their most heavy sounding to date. Since Andrew Mandell took over from Spike Nard on vocals the sound has been more aggressive, though a little less fun! Crashdog have decided to opt out of the business aspect of the industry and release this album privately; a brave and wise decision, as they were never comfortable out of the underground. Steve Albini produced this record and he has done a great job, as the sound is raw but still manages to be clear. Most of the songs are pretty fast and the riffs are pure classic old school! The old sense of fun reappears at the beginning of "Fair Play" and in "More Famouser". As always, Crashdog voice their political views in lyrics and essays (1) on the inlay card. If you liked the raw punk sound of their earlier albums you will certainly like this, even if it is slightly different. In my opinion this is Crashdog at their best yet.
