Yet another special by Commissioned. The first track is "He Set Me Free" written by Michael Brooks the group's keyboard player. They've at last stepped from the shadow of the Winans - in the past a group they too closely resembled - and now go for crossover with some rich harmonies, the soulful lead vocal of Keith Statton and a funkily contemporary accompaniment of programmed keyboards and drums. "I Am Here" is just beautiful. A ballad written by Mitchell Jones and Parkes Stuart, who remind us of their unconditional love and exhort their listeners to "Come Close - because I'm waiting here." The lyrics and the melody provoked the listener to stop and consider that "God is right here, so why not draw near." An album of real depth both up-tempo and ballad numbers having bite and passion. Check it out - don't hesitate.
