The thing about Clint is that he gets hold of a musical motif and hammers it for near on six minutes. Whether you like it or not you will get fastened to the figure which is repeated until it's well and truly nailed. So it's a happy coincidence that I like it, what I mean is, I really like it. Clint himself isn't so easy to nail down; sometimes sounding black and sometimes sounding like a noughties Tom Jones; his energy is infectious. Any slight imperfections from band or the female chorus are easily forgiven, it only adds to the excitement of the live feel. Clint's cool too, he's lost his wavy locks and looks like he means business. I reviewed his 1997 album, 'Give God The Highest Praise', which got seven squares and there is a track from that CD on here. Clint's recording output is becoming prolific; a good cross section of it is here. The church he pastors has stuck with the ethos it started with: to exchange the spirit of heaviness for the garment of praise, they do it here with 30 songs (two CDs) compiled from Pastor Clint's work over the last few years, 15 fast (praise) and 15 slower (worship) all beautifully packaged.
