Depending on your age, this collection of 22 re-recorded songs by Cliff Richard and the Shadows will either be a trip down memory lane or a pop history lesson about one of the biggest selling British acts ever. Many of these songs are instantly recognizable, even to those unfamiliar with Sir Cliff's early years of stardom, and the lazy '50s and '60s feel makes it a relaxing and summery listening experience akin to much of the 'surf-rock' of the Beach Boys and co. "Summer Holiday", "Do You Wanna Dance" and "Move It" are among the major hits re-recorded here but, unsurprisingly for a singer who is the only person to have had a number one UK single in six separate decades, there are bundles of other chart-topping tracks here too. Other songs are the country and western themed "Time Drags By" and the apparently prophetic "Bachelor Boy". In 1964 Cliff's Christian faith made media headlines and helped shape a clean-cut image which is still in the minds of most people today. So whether it is to recapture the past or simply to advance your musical education this run through by Cliff and the Shads of numerous old hits, this is well worth getting hold of. The fact that 'Reunited' peaked at number four in the UK albums chart suggests that a large number have already done just that.
