I for one was delighted to see Celtic music's top ensemble back together again and few would argue that in Moya Brennan they have one of the best vocalists currently working in any style of music. Moya's lyrical tones are mesmerising throughout this set while the interplay between the musicians here demonstrates that they are able to replicate in concert the multilayered sounds which made their best albums so memorable. Standouts here are the first two traditional Gaelic songs "Thios Chois Nia Tra Domh" and "Dtigeas A Damihsa" while their medley from the Robin Of Sherwood TV series is so hauntingly lovely that one can forget that series' unfortunate occult overtones. Overall, 'Christ Church Cathedral' is a testament to a superbly tight bunch of musicians while the guest string section add a grandeur to their epic soundscapes.
