Nashville-based singer/songwriter Christopher Williams has become known for putting out quality and thought-provoking Americana and this 2017 independent release is no exception. Delivered with one of those classic Nashville voices, Williams covers various aspects of faith in a way which seems deeply personal without ever becoming needlessly introspective thanks to his ability to craft excellent songs and meaningful lyrics. Williams gently offers up hope in the likes of "Home", "Do Not Be Afraid" and "By My Side" whilst the considered "Song To A Younger Me" does exactly what it says on the tin. Musically, the country-tinged acoustic feel suits Williams' material down to the ground and some nice touches such as some gospel-style backing vocals here and some electric slide there provide the icing on the cake whilst the swamp blues-influenced "The Dog" is perhaps the highlight of yet another fine album from this experienced songsmith.
