'Inside Out' is a collection of Chris's old favourites and new anthems performed in the man himself's back garden with a genuine Southern barbeque in full swing as Chris entertains from the stage. Nine inside, then nine outside. Hence the title. The upbeat feel good "Smelling Coffee" is given the outside treatment, being the first track of the night set. This is a gentle walkthrough some of the more moving moments of Chris's back catalogue. For those of us who will rarely get the chance to see the CCM leading lights in their natural habitat, this DVD really feels like that intimate coffee house small gig where it's just you, the artist and the pictures he paints and invites you into. With Chris's gift for the poetic, songs like "Lemonade" lend themselves to family setting, and the sound quality is nigh on perfect. The highlight of this DVD is the in between song chatter and banter, as well as the various guest artists and musicians who dip in and out of the set. Visually this is not the most inspiring product - there are a few boom camera sweeps over the small gathering of fans toasting marshmallows over the log fires, but not much to get you going. Even less so when we move inside, though the house is huge, and Chris shows off his skills on the baby grand. One for the fans, though probably with a fairly short shelf life.

Product Description
'I love what I get to do, and I don't want to forsake what I'm doing. I'm ignoring the imaginary boundaries often placed around a songwriter, just to see what I come up with. The result has been a surprising mix of songs about faith, falling in love and my usual themes of time and nature.'- Chris Rice Dove Award Winning singer-songwriter Chris Rice follows up his latest CD Amusing with a new DVD Inside Out. At over 1 hour, Chris performs an acoustic montage of his past favourites such as Deep Enough to Dream, Smellin' Coffee, and Clumsy, as well as his newest works Love Like Crazy and When Did You Fall.

Hi,
I enjoyed the review, but disagree with the visual opinion.
Of course I am a fan, but one thing I like best about Chris
Rice is that he is being real, and letting the natural
beauty of the place and the relaxed style exist for an
artist.
I feel strongly that we need less "show" and more real and
that this will attract many people who would agree. It
really does lend itself to feeling a part of it. Many
people will appreciate it, and become new fans! I recommend
checking it out.
