Merseyside-based Chris is a lady of many talents. She was once half of pop duo Chris & Garry, later became a much used conference speaker and has now established a fresh music ministry with the help of talented roots musician and producer Sammy Horner. Here Chris has co-written several of the 15 tracks on this very pleasent CD. Many of the songs relate to situations in life and how to restore them, such as "Songs For The Broken Hearted". Horner, has also written several tracks in addition to providing vocals and playing a whole range of acoustic instruments (including lap steel, mandolin and jaws harp). The overall effect is an album of easy-on-the-ear country with some nice acoustic accompaniment and lyrics which eschew cliché to express a degree of Christian challenge though the arrangements sometimes lack dynamics. The best track is "Come Home Weary Traveler" which Chris wrote herself. I look forward to hearing more from this talented lady.
