After a dreary opener "Prayer", I was hardly ready for the romping, hollering "Holy Ghost Power" where one Lemmie Battles demonstrated that where you've got a singer able to go for hyperdrive over a riffing choir, gospel still has the ability to raise goosebumps. Unfortunately, nothing else quite hits that mark. There are too many below average songs and though producer Percy Gray keeps up the live atmosphere and it's great to hear the old gospel blues "You Can't Hurry God" again, this isn't the best choir album you'll hear.
