This CD was produced in 1995, but upon a first hearing you might guess it was even older. . . It's a collection of 17 Bible songs for children with actions, in Spanish. But the backing music seems to be wholly produced by keyboards, including brass and drum sounds so fake that any acoustic musician would feel compelled to riot. And the vocals sound more like a group of ladies trying to sing like small children. But, remember the target audience: children between the age of four and 10. The huge majority of them just won't mind: they will enjoy the songs for what they are: fun and educational. Depending on the type of church you're familiar with, you may or may not know many of the songs, though some are timeless classics, such as "Onward Christian Soldiers" ("Firmes y Adelante"), "Father Abraham" ("Nuestro Padre Abraham") and "If You're Happy And You Know It" ("Si En Verdad Eres Salvo"). If you are or have a child learning Spanish, this could be a good way of helping. Otherwise, for the sake of the adults sharing ear space, find an alternative that's more up to date and more musically sophisticated.
