This one surprised me. For a release brimming with major talent - Tommy Simms, Darwin Hobbs, Tom Howard and others - CeCe seemed to be on half power for the first three tracks. It was soporific fare. But then it burst into life, even though it felt produced to death in places. The quality of the songwriting peeked through, and CeCe upped the anti. I concluded that this is gospel more through an MOR/pop lens, than an R&B one. This may give it a greater appeal to women than men. It may not be her defining hour, and a total of five different production teams may explain the unfocussed feel. However, it's perfectly decent and some songs will creep up on you unawares. If you're a CeCe fan, this is a safe purchase.
