Cat Rea, the niece of pop veteran Chris Rea, has for a while now been working in the mainstream music scene. After crying out to God, Cat had a revelation that allowed her to escape drug and mental health issues and here is the first, hopefully of many, paean to the freedom that following God offers. There are, in fact, three different versions of this single released, but this is the one which you are now going to be hearing on both Cross Rhythms and xRhythms. You can hear that freedom when Cat sings; it sounds like joyful release more than anything: "Let freedom reign/and the melody sing/That I got joy and peace and love I'm free again." Infuxx's downtempo remix is superb. Vivid is the best way I can describe it. It soars with Cat's voice and takes us on an aural trip through mountain peaks and deep pine forests with gliding Condors. Joshua's thoughtful, though rather deadpan, rap stays on message and the strings that sweep in halfway through are a joy. It's a hit with me and will soon be with many of Cross Rhythms/xRhythms' listeners.
