As we all know, Casting Crowns have come a long way since their eponymous 2003 debut to become one of the biggest acts in CCM history. Down the years they have been stalwarts of US Christian radio and such hits as "Voice Of Truth", "East To West" and "Glorious Day" ensured that they were seldom off the airwaves. In recent years though they have mellowed and although roaring, guitar-driven rock is still occasionally in evidence, you're as likely to get a Steven Curtis Chapman-styled song like their new radio hit here, "One Step Away", or a piano-led ballad like "Oh My Soul" as anything too youth orientated. But in Mark Hall they have a fine lead singer while lyrically Casting Crowns have not shied away from the hardship we can encounter in life. Both "God Of All My Days" and "No Other Name" (the latter a Hillsong Worship cover) truly bring the listener into worship while "Song The Angels Can't Sing" has more than a bit of Rend Collective in its rustic-style danceability. Possibly the most worshipful project the band have ever done, it's clear that Casting Crowns still have much to give the world Church.

Product Description
The highly anticipated new album from the bestselling band Casting Crowns.
Casting Crowns began in, serves in and continues to be rooted in the local church. It is at the local level that they are walking along with people in ministry and where the inspiration for their albums is formed. “Because we have the honour of walking with people in our churches, we get to see what people are going through - the issues that are impacting everyone now,” shares front man Mark Hall. “It is in these situations that ideas are born for what we all need to hear right here right now.”
This album though is perhaps even more personal than most. It includes the song “Oh My Soul,” which Mark Hall wrote in response to his journey through a cancer diagnosis, giving this album a real authentic resonance.
The Very Next Thing is full of intimate songs as well as upbeat, fresh sounding tracks that will meet the listener with lyrics that impact with a strong message song after song.
