To great acclaim Canton Junction are arguably the most high profile new Southern gospel music in recent times. Comprising Aaron Crabb from the highly acclaimed Crabb Family, Tim Duncan of the incredible bass voice who for many years was part of Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Mathew Hagee, son of well known American pastor John Hagee and an acclaimed author and minister in his own right, and Shane McConnell, it was hard to think they would not make some serious musical waves. Already renowned for stunning live performances, Canton Junction show what all the fuss is about with a couple of live tracks on the end of the album. But it's the studio recordings, full of fine new songs, which work best. The catchy opener "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey" is particularly strong while "The Son Shines Down On Me", "Heaven Is" and "The Inviting Christ" will each have you reaching for the repeat button. The more familiar songs such as "Dig A Little Deeper In God's Love", "Sweeter As The Days Go By" and the classic hymn "Softly And Tenderly" are also powerfully rendered and tastefully done. The whole album oozes class from start to finish, with top quality material and exceptional vocals.
