Think of a sound not dissimilar to the big inspirational balladry of Larnelle Harris and you’ll get some idea of the sound of this 1996 album from Calvin. His rendition of the classic Geren Davis title song or his emotive rendition of Fanny Crosby’s ancient “Blessed Assurance” show Calvin has truly exceptional vocal technique though personally I prefer it when the orchestrations are less overblown or when, as on “We Will Know” there’s a bit of an R&B backbeat. But what you can’t deny is the impressive emotional power of a fine singer.

As a published poetry writer, I had the priviledge to meet Calvin Hunt in Buford Geogia on Nov. 26, 2006. His testimony on how the power of prayer changes things revitalized my soul. On a positive note; Jesus can convert a "Crack addict to a Christ addict" His singing was annointed that I could see and feel the power of the blood of Jesus in his eyes. Keep living and singing for Christ, Br. Calvin. May God bless you. In my book you deserve A+.
