Part of a series of boxed sets reprising Kingsway's back catalogue, three very different albums from Bryn Haworth spanning 15 years of his long career. 'Wings Of The Morning' was the last of his Chapel Lane albums released in 1984. It's an interesting mix of styles from folk/rock "Make Us Holy Lord", there's the country influenced "Lord I Love Your Word", and his trademark R&B on the likes of "I've Found The Love". Coming to it fresh in 2005 the album has a retro feel to it and hasn't dated as much as some mainstream albums from the same era. The second disc, the 1993 released 'Bryn Haworth Band - Live', is probably the best of the three, showing Bryn at his best in performance; this is one for the air guitarists amongst us. Featuring some of his hits like "We're All One", there is a Dire Straits feel to "Is This Love", "Word Of Our God/Pass It On" is an excellent jazz performance and "Reeling & Rocking" is just that. Disc three, the 1999 released 'Songs & Hymns', is quieter and more reflective featuring a 50/50 mix of well known hymns given the Haworth treatment and new songs from Bryn, the best of which is probably "Jesus The Man". Perhaps not exactly 'Three Of The Best' from Bryn Haworth, but a good introduction to the man's work none the less.

Bryn is an absolute master of slide guitar, and this is
displayed emphatically on these albums. His version of
"People get ready" on the live album and "Only believe" on
"Songs & Hymns" are jaw-dropping.
