Continuing our unwanted tradition of reviewing Christmas projects in spring/summer, here's a few thoughts on this EP released last Yuletide by Jesus Culture Music. Bryan and Katie have, of course, a stone classic worship song under their belts, and as any discerning worshipper will know, the husband and wife's version is hugely preferable to the Francesca Battistelli hit. With such obvious talent, I was hoping for a lot from the duo's Christmas release, but I was sorely disappointed. You'll never convince me that the secular ditties "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" and "The Christmas Song" are anything but Tin-Pan Alley schmaltz while the Torwalts' version of "Hark The Herald Angels" and "Emmanuel" are okay but nothing ground-breaking. Let's hope 'Christmas' doesn't get reissued for the 2018 season.
