From the opener, a jazz-tinged version of "I Heard The Bells On Christmas" with Bryan accompanied by Tom Howard on the concert grand this is a sparklingly fresh set of Christmas chestnuts (yes, Bryan does a version of "The Christmas Song"). Listen to the little percussive groove added to "Angels We Have Heard On High" which adds a contemporary tinge while still retaining its anthemic majesty or the upbeat rendition of "Hark The Herald Angels Sing". But the real standouts are the self-composed title song where Bryan's smoky vocal glides and curls on a lilting keyboards-driven ballad and the moving "The Form Of A Man" written by Bill Batstone and Robbie Buchanan. A 'trad' easy listening album that overcomes the predictability of the Christmas genre.
