Brooklyn Tabernacle Deliverance Mass Choir - Songs Of Deliverance

Not, you will note, the highly popular Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir (which very confusingly appear to be a completely different lot not in any way connected with this outfit) but a 100-plus voice mass choir directed by Rhonda Copeland. Much bluesier and wilder than the somewhat anaemic BTC, this team have a thrilling lung busting sound and on a frantic number like "Christ Is AH", with a ferocious lead from Arlene Copeland, really strive to take the roof off. Not quite up to the monumental standards of the Mississippi Mass Choir but still a pretty good album to herald Kingsway's belated entry into the realm of black choir music.

There is no need to put down one choir to compliment
another. This is a fine choir. Also is the Brooklyn
Tabernacle Choir of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church - of
which I am a member! Very un-Christian of you. Much respect
to this choir which has their own fantastic technique, as
well as the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir which has their own
special and unique style. God Bless.
