Difficult to know where to place this band. Somewhere on the AOR crossover of grown-up Led Zeppelin/Whitesnake/Boston/Stones territories - that should leave everyone enough scope. They switch from rock 'n' roll, heavy style on the album's opener "Rattlesnake" to tender hearted gentleness on the closer "Goodbye". In between they display a variety of styles which serves to emphasise their technical abilities rather than illuminate an outstanding talent distinctive enough to cut through. However, there are some great moments on this set - "Psychedelic Super Jesus" - my particular favourite, is so different. Lines like "You say he's weak, he's a superfreak" give it almost a Kinks style lyric. The instrumental "Saltriver Shuffle" and the US rock of "Dust Through A Fan" (love that title) make this an unusual yet overall a pleasing collection.
