Dale Thompson, Bride's frontman, is apparently running for the White House. In the unlikely event that he may win the forthcoming US Presidential election, what clues does this all-new recording from his indefatigable band of hard rockers give us? Well, not many really, but it does showcase a band in fine form. Following return to form "This Is It", Bride continue the creative surge which has characterised this part of their career. Riffs from Troy Thompson and bass player Lawrence Bishop are searing, thunderous beasts, driven along by solid drumming from Jason Lewis and Mark Gray, who share the drum stool for this album. Dale's vocals have never sounded more potent, more urgent or more vital. Opening salvo "The Calm", "Skin For Skin" and "End Of Days" see band and vocalist in powerful harmony, riding the crest of a heavy metal wave. "Fuel And Fire" is propelled by screams and yet more huge riffery This continues throughout the course of this album, proving that Bride are still a primeval force at the centre of Christian Heavy Metal. Here's hoping they don't carry out their threat to retire.
