The third album from one of the most successful Christian metal bands is now the third release in the Originals Series of re-issues from Radioactive Records. The digital re-mastering is superb, making the album sound vibrant and fresh, despite it being 22 years old. In fact, some Bride die-hards are convinced that this is a remix, however the label are adamant that it isn't. Guitarist Troy Thompson has added some recollections of the period when the album was created, but this is the only change to the original packaging. Written in the vein of Iron Maiden, tracks such as "Fool Me Once", "Evil Dreams" and "Under The Influence" showcase the talents that gave Bride their success. In particular, the vocal range and power of Dale Thompson is spectacular, while the technical musicianship is superior to other bands of the same era. Not all the tracks have aged as well as these though. "Until The End We Rock" and "Rock Those Blues Away" are reminiscent of the era, but are also a reminder of the age of songs as filler material. Despite this, 'Silence Is Madness' is a fun album, with a tremendous new sound, that fans of '80s rock and metal should enjoy.
