Brian Houston is, of course, a long-time Cross Rhythms favourite from Belfast. He is a gifted performer and a charismatic and prophetic worship leader. These nine tracks give an encouraging snapshot of the Open Skies Festival and allow us to participate in some exceptional worship. My favourite track is Robin Mark's "Days Of Elijah" just because of the intensity with which it's delivered. Houston's own songs "Lion Of Judah" and "Love You More Than Life" are just perfect for praise. Brian isn't afraid to use older material such as Keith Green's "There Is A Redeemer" if it fits the ethos. Marty Timlin on bass and Peter Comfort on drums keep the music rock solid and Michelle McMurray adds some gorgeous flute solos, eg, on Matt Redman's "Bless The Lord". Another highlight for me was Doerksen's "Faithful One". I love that song anyway and here vocal harmonies are fully explored on top of a rock backing. Because of the depth of his engagement with the music, Houston has the ability to sing the same phrase 20 times and still hold your interest. Another powerful release from Houston's impressive back catalogue.
