This six-song EP from a Canadian songsmith hooked me from the start . I just loved the combination of pop stylings fused to mandolin-driven folk roots sounds. Elsewhere styles vary but cover the spectrum between acoustic pop and light rock in a most satisfying and unfussy way, with insightful lyrics and confident, soulful singing the hallmark. "Light Up Darkness" is a touching tribute to those who've been a bright light in the darkness for the songwriter; "Oceans Of Love" features the memorable chorus line "If I fall I'm gonna fall at the feet of amazing grace" while "Perfect Peace" is a song urging us to focus on God in times of trouble - "Keep your eyes on me and I will calm all your raging seas." The only fault I'd find with this collection is that it wasn't a full album.
