Singer, songwriter, broadcaster and author Kilpatrick will be best known to most churchgoers as the composer of the classic "In My Life, Lord, Be Glorified". This CD shows Bob's range to be much wider than that famous song. A prolific writer who uploads a new song to his website every month to the acclaim of everyone from Phil Keaggy to charismatic pastor Bill Johnson, he crammed 20 songs of varying styles onto this 1992 release. They vary between singalong with a children's choir ("All Around The World") through roots rock ("O, Mercy!") to the Celtic flourishes of "One Of These Days" and the acoustic flavours of "This Ritual". It shows its age as a release by the inclusion of a track entitled "End Of The Millennium". By no means are all the songs worship material, but they are all written from an overt Christian perspective. The quality ranges from cheesy to classy. It's a bit lo-fi in places, too. 1992 was way before the days of home digital recorders and laptops, but this appears on a label (Fair Oak Records) that Kilpatrick himself founded. However, this early effort sounds like the budget was being stretched. All in all, then, a homely release from a seasoned man of God.
