A magnificent return for the septuagenarian living legends. Producer John Chelew has brought in crème-de-la-crème musos who, if not Christians, at least have the down-in-the-alley blues feel necessary to bring out the deep roots of timeless music. Grab Jimmy Carter (the Blind Boy, not the ex-President) moaning long and low over the traditional "No More". Catch Clarence Fountain rasping up a storm on Tom Waits' "Jesus Gonna Be Here" as Charlie Musselwhite's mouth harp interjects from blues heaven. Hear Jagger and Richard's "Just Wanna See His Face" given the ultimate transformation. Swoon over the searing dobro from John Hammond on "Good Religion". Only in the copyright research does the project stumble (look guys, everybody knows Blind Willie Johnson wrote "Nobody's Fault But Mine"). But as an example of a younger (white) generation venerating true giants of African American culture with brilliance and sensitivity, this album has few equals.
