"We're not like you said. We're not dead." A scream of assurance from Blessthefall, a band that has had more than its share of detractors in the past couple of years but who have persevered to continue their career. Coming in somewhere between Destroy The Runner and Underoath, Blessthefall drive their post-hardcore/screamo anthems into you with pounding grooves, infectious rhythms and loads of vocal harmonies from new vocalist Beau Bokan and screamer/bassist Jared Warth. The different vocals are integrated particularly well on the title track and lead single "God Wears Gucci". The band have friends in high places, having toured with the likes of Norma Jean, August Burns Red and Saosin. Catchy hook-filled track "Hey Baby, Here's The Song You Wanted" is also now available as a download for Rockband on the X-Box, giving them another route into mainstream consciousness. There is a fair amount of pop-sensibility in the writing, which results in a very contemporary feel to the album, but this moulds well with the hardcore style riffs and drums. Blessthefall are a young, modern band with a potentially bright future and the apparent drive to realise that future.
