It seems only yesterday that the band from Mobile, Alabama were being nominated for New Artist Of The Year at the 2003 Dove Awards and now this compilation gives us a chance to remember just why their blue collar rock with its Southern flavour has made them a fixture of the US CCM scene. The 15 tracks here offer an enjoyable mix of their biggest songs from 2002's 'One And Only', 2003's 'Fields Of Grace', 2006's 'Every Time I Breathe' and 2008's 'What Life Would Be Like'. Particular standouts are a rock revamp of the worship standard "Let It Rise" while "Set Me Free" is a long time band favourite inspired by lead singer Mike Weaver's testimony of salvation. Somebody once described Big Daddy Weave as Christendom's answer to the Dave Matthews Band. So if you're looking for honest, bluesy, organic rock and you haven't yet discovered this set's source releases, this Best Of should be investigated.
