With a string of live dates and festival appearances under their belt, Back Pocket Prophet must be feeling very positive right now. With this second EP they have strengthened their position with their classic throwback thrash sound. Chugging riffage and chunky bass rumblings are the order of the day as evidenced on the opening title track, and whilst the originality of their sound might sometimes be lacking, the intensity and enthusiasm is evident. Adam Gough's takeover of vocal duties after Tiny's departure doesn't seem to have handicapped the band despite trimming down to a three piece, although his roar is considerably stronger than his singing voice and this reviewer feels they might be better suited to writing tunes to exploit that in future! A fine, fun EP that will keep fans happy until a full album emerges.
