Pennsylvania -based August Burns Red formed in March of 2003 and this is their debut album on Solid State. From the start they scream potential, talent and professionalism. You can clearly see the influence of producer Adam Dutkiewicz (Kilswitch Engage) and this album has clearly benefited from his expertise. It's a top quality album! Lyrics are catchy and the rhythm section is varied and tight while the guitar riffs are fabulous. "Your Little Suburbia Is In Ruins" thrusts the listener straight into their sound and they rest at the metal end of metalcore. After a while however, the very similar sound tends to merge the songs into one, which is this album's only downside. Some variety is brought with the instrumental "Eve Of The End". Fans of All That Remains, Unearth and As I Lay Dying should check out August Burns Red.
