Well, I must admit that when I put the tape on to review it, I thought the title song lacked. er.power but then the second track came on, "East To West", and it completely changed my opinion of what I thought I was going to write about this EP from the team of Saltmine musicianaries. The last verse of the "East To West" song really spoke to me: "There's a man speaking on a hillside, and a crowd hang on every word/There's a man in a fishing boat who the wind and waves have heard/And there's a man on a Roman cross betrayed by a best friend's kiss/What kind of man? What kind of love is this?" Third on the tape is a more up tempo number, "Sunshine", which is really good and I found myself singing along to it. And last on the EP is "Can't Touch My Soul". Again, this had powerful lyrics, is a more bluesy, slower number which worked well. This band definitely have a great gift and talent. Keep up the good work! Clearly they've got a hot CD in them. In the meantime catch 'Power'.
