A three-track demo from the band that's grown out of the now defunct Strangely Normal. Although we've classified it under pop, it's probably best described as a kind of rock-dance fusion, with the dance element taking quite a mechanical shape. Simply, it's one of the best demos I've heard in a very long time. The songs all bounce along and the combination of up-front keyboards and some gutsy guitar work really makes for a highly credible piece of work. Of the three tracks, my favourite is undoubtedly "Flame" which even manages to accommodate some pretty serious guitar riffing over the phazed keyboard backing. And yet, for all these clashing of conventional styles, the songs are never over-fussy and actually contain some strong hooks. If you're genuinely interested in what's happening at the grass roots or if you're just looking for a good band to come and play your patch, then this cassette is a very good investment indeed.
