This posthumous release showcases piano virtuoso and Gaither stalwart Anthony Burger's talent at interpreting popular songs as instrumentals without losing too much of the original version's spirit. Oldies such as "Crying In The Chapel", "You Will Never Walk Alone" and "Keep On The Sunny Side" are given the Burger treatment - very much in the Nashville sound approach of fellow pianist Floyd Cramer - with additional support from an array of pedal steels, fiddles and some good old Southern gospel backing vocals. Elsewhere, faith takes a prominent place in the proceedings with two classics from the Thomas Dorsey stable ("Take My Hand, Precious Lord" and "Peace In The Valley") whilst a pleasing rendition of Hank Williams' "I Saw The Light" keeps thing rolling along nicely in this fitting addition to the portfolio of one of Southern gospel's most revered and missed musicians.

Product Description
Timeless classics from piano virtuoso child prodigy Anthony Burger.
Anthony Burger was a piano virtuoso with an incomparable style of playing, who commanded a stage with his keyboard acrobatics. A much loved member of the Gaither Homecoming family for more than a decade, Anthony Burger was also a celebrated solo performer and recording artist. Audiences around the world marvelled at the skill he displayed on great old hymns and convention songs, but the child prodigy was equally at home playing big Broadway show tunes or classical compositions. His untimely death in 2006 left a profound void. Anthony Burger Productions, in conjunction with Spring Hill Music Group, is releasing a new CD, God’s Country, featuring the renowned keyboardist playing such timeless classics as ‘Keep On The Sunny Side’, ‘Peace In The Valley’ ‘I Saw The Light’ and many more. Anthony Burger may no longer be thrilling Homecoming audiences, but his legacy lives on through his astounding talent for playing music.
