These are apparently the last recordings made by the late pianist who tragically died suddenly while on tour with the Gaithers' Homecoming Friends. He had for many years accompanied the Gaither reunions and was a classically trained pianist of a high musical standard. The tracks on this seasonal album are mainly familiar, including "Good Christian Men Rejoice", "White Christmas", "Deck The Halls" and "Mary Did You Know". This is an all instrumental album (piano with orchestral backing) which is at times quite jazzy and in truth pretty far removed from traditional Southern Gospel music. But no doubt this will sell to those who remember this late fine artist from his many concert performances. But I have to admit that it did little to excite me.
