The name of Andy Park is almost inextricably linked with Vineyard Music, his career with that stream dating back to the late 1980s. Over subsequent years he and his songs appeared on a plethora of Vineyard releases. Park has continued to work with Vineyard, being a pastoral staff member of several different Vineyard churches. A few of his later solo releases were fairly unmemorable affairs, but in the past half-dozen years Park has been turning out some pretty fine output. This, his latest, is surely one of his best in years, albeit relying on a few vintage oldies to augment his batch of brand new compositions. "Our God Reigns", along with "New Day" and the title track itself, provide clear evidence that this veteran worship leader still knows how to pack a punch, all being catchy, uplifting pop-praise songs with variable brass and fiddle sections. Sonic diversity continues throughout the set, with both further guitar-based and a number of more laid-back piano-based tunes, in keeping with that early chilled-out Vineyard feel. "Messiah" carries intriguing mystical Eastern tones (and sounds from an Indian flute), while his classic 1992 "Like A Lily" is gorgeously rendered here by Andy's daughter Jessica with sibling David (another of Park's eight children!) providing the Celtic-sounding arrangement. Other contributors to this set include Soul Survivor worship leader Andreana Arganda, Kelly Carpenter and the CompassionArt team (with whom Andy wrote one song on this album). There is also some excellent production from Brian Thiessen. A fine recording from a world class worship musician.
