Northern Irish singer/songwriter Andy McCann, now based in Canada, is well known for co-writing Bluetree's worship hit "God Of This City" and this five-track EP sees the songsmith further evidence his ability to turn in quality and considered praise material. McCann's gentle vocal delivery is accompanied by some simple but effective acoustic guitar playing together with a backing band that provide enough light and shade to keep things interesting. For instance, the stirring opener "We Wait For You" ebbs and flows between power and fragility to help press home the feeling of longing for God whilst quieter numbers like "Father" and the slow-building "Though Thunder Rolls" - whilst not breaking any new ground musically - are accomplished pieces of worship fare. The Celtic-tinged "I Love You Lord" reflects the singer's Irish roots whilst the God-honouring "Every Day, Every Breath" rounds off this competent offering from McCann.
