Rich Mullins left behind an amazing legacy, on a par with the likes of Keith Green. His purpose to draw people into God through his style of music has been imitated by many since. In Andrew Peterson we find an artist qualified to continue the charge. The comparison is made not to describe Peterson's style of music, though the Mullins influence is clearly there, but to portray the artistry and ingenuity of this style of storytelling, that brings revelation of God's character. The Mullins family gave Peterson a choice of unreleased songs to include on the CD, and "Mary Picked The Roses" brings this revelation in indescribable beauty. Peterson's own songs are as impressive. A collection of stories, analogies and life experiences. "Isn't It Love" reveals an admirable integrity and honesty in the writer, while "Song And Dance" brings new life to David's writing of the Psalms. "Let Me Sing" exhibits the craft of producing depth of beauty in lyrics that few possess. Produced to the impeccable standard common in the cash-rich American CCM industry, the music, harmonies and musicianship pull together to form an overall product that is an essential of any music collection. MIMO (miss it, miss out).
