Already receiving rave reviews, veteran CCM hitmaker Amy Grant's first for many a long year captures something of the spiritual, vocal and musical maturity that has come from over 30 years in the business. Whilst Grant has enlisted the help of some celebrity buddies (James Taylor on "Don't Try So Hard", Carole King on "Our Time Is Now" as well as Sheryl Crow and Eric Paslay on "Deep As It Is Wide"), their involvement is sufficiently low key not to take away from what is essentially another seasoned and skilled performance from the artist herself. With songs such as the evocative title track and the Springsteen-like opener "If I Could See (What The Angels See)" looking at things from a distanced heavenly perspective, this is a considered release that sees Grant tackle life's ups and downs in the reflective "Better Not To Know" and "Not Giving Up" with a combination of gritty realism and a sturdy faith whilst the stunningly poignant "Shovel In Hand" documents the brutal effect of sending young men into conflict - all of which makes this one of her most satisfying releases in her long career. Welcome back Amy.
