Among The Thirsty are a band who keep their mission front and centre - to put themselves and their music at God's service. "Here I am, send me," they sing on the opening track, "Send Me", and it's an invitation to God that propels the rest of the album forward. Moving from the stadium rock of "The Arms Of Love" to the bluesy "The Love Song", with acoustic slow-burners like "Homeward Bound" in between, Among The Thirsty have delivered a varied set of songs that showcases their versatility as a band. Despite the overall strength of the album though, nothing really caught my attention on the first listen, or the second. I hate to use such a nondescript word, but this is a solid, rather than an inspirational record. Check them out though if you're a fan of American rock bands like Vertical Horizon.
