Winning the US TV talent show Sunday Best in 2011 certainly gave St Louis-born gospel singer Amber Bullock instant fame but it is her second album that indicates she may have a considerably longer career than your average reality show winner. Under the watchful eye of award-winner producer PJ Morton, this is a varied and expertly-executed concoction of pop, soul, gospel and R&B which showcases Bullock's impressive vocals at every turn. Proceedings kick off with the infectious funk of "Lord You've Been So God" - complete with a wonderful Stevie Wonder-like horn section - whilst the gentle reggae of the title track and dance pop of "Take It Back" prove Bullock's ability to stride between styles. Her own personal struggles and her faith in God are reflected in the likes of the tender "Second Chances" and "Changed" whilst a cameo from gospel superstar Kirk Franklin on "Done For Me" adds weight to an already substantial release.
