Doxology Records, the new label headed by music industry veteran Dan Posthuma, got off to a big hit with the release of Asbury's debut 'Somebody's Praying Me Through' with the inspirational ballad title track being one of two number one hits on US radio. This follow up, produced by Don Koch, is more of the same. Excellent songwriters like Brian White, Dave Clark (no, not that one) and Darryl Brown offer the singer moving ballads and punchy pop rock numbers while Asbury's voice, pitched firmly in the Bob Carlisle/Russ Taff blue-eyed soul axis, is able to wring out all the meaning from the songs here. If you've a taste for quality American inspirational pop Allen is a singer you will want to investigate.
