An American Christian TV and touring speaker, Alexis has been performing since she was 12 years old with teen pop group the Rubyz and on iShinelive. She offers herself as a positive role model with make-up and fashion tips alongside the Christian message on her website. This EP is clean cut music to match the image with slick production, clear vocals and nothing too untoward in the musical style - rather three minute pop songs to praise God and request his help in life. "Eagles", based around verses from Isaiah, has a bouncing synthesiser bass underscoring the jingling, cascading keyboard sound as Alexis' clear, clean voice soars above pleading for her to be lifted up. The title track relates to a desire to be like Jesus and particularly reflects on his miracles and a prayer for his power to be revealed in a person's life; swirling keyboards and driving drums emphasise the miraculous nature and magnificence of God. In a music world where some female vocalists would not be the choice of parents for a daughter to mimic Alexis does offer a Christian alternative. It's a positive message but for UK audiences it maybe comes across as just a bit too slick and only skin deep.
