Leader Jimi Ray has a second crack at making it after two AOR records in the early '90s failed to leave any lasting impression. This time the reformed band have engaged in a little stylistic repositioning with a rootsy rock sound somewhere in the region of the planet Blowfish (Hootie and the boys are big news in the US of A). So you gel a pile of acoustic driven catchy little numbers with plenty of space to breathe, anthemic choruses and a touch of passion. It works! And with guests like Mac Powell from Third Day turning up on the wonderful "The Love Of Jesus", there's a sparkle of magic mixed into the proceedings. "Someone Like You" and "The Losers Win" set the pace in a rockin' roots fashion before things calm a little. "The Air That I Breathe" is an effective spiritual ballad and a reminder that this time round Age Of Faith have much to say! A bit of a surprise is their neat cover version of Crowded House's "Something So Strong". At times reminiscent of Big Tent Revival, if you like your rock raw and rootsy this will definitely be worth checking out.
