Totally irresistible and delightful. A sparkling sound, bursting with joyous energy from a Ugandan orphans choir that's high on enthusiasm and with a very attractive, flowing vocal style. Someone has worked hard to pull together such a tight, accurate vocal sound, without washing out the youthful aggression. African rhythms are well in evidence; songs like "Ndyahimbisa" come across with the sun-splashed vigour we've all come to love ever since Paul Simon made the introduction awhile back. I must admit to some foreboding as to how they might render the delicate "From A Distance" but, reminding myself that even Bette Midler had a go at it, when that point in the programme arrived all was OK, though it needed a mental adjustment or two. Well, what kind of no-account could criticise it all, eh? Some praise choruses, mixed with ethnic sounds and popular songs, all thoroughly enjoyable. Applause to all concerned.
