Italian tenor and Friar Alessandro set to release album debut
ITALIAN tenor Alessandro Brustenghi, who earlier this year made headlines when he became the first Friar in the history of music to land a major record deal, will have his debut album, 'Voice From Assisi', internationally released on 15th October. Producer Mike Hedges (U2, Manic Street Preachers) discovered Alessandro whilst in Italy. Friar Alessandro's album was recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios and consists of a mix of traditional and modern sacred songs including a version of "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" from the biopic of St Francis which was penned by '60s singer/songwriter Donovon.

I heard Friar Alessandro sing this morning on the bbc's Sunday programme. It was magical and I cannot wait to tell my friends about him
